The core of any production switcher is a multi-format video mixer. It takes in multiple video feeds – cameras, NDI sources, and remote guests (via WebRTC) – and provides options to either switch between them or mix several feeds together into a single output. The output is usually sent to an encoder or streamed to a destination directly within the software.
Modern live production solutions are usually equipped with PTZ cameras and controlled via a hardware vision mixing console – such as live streaming and production software solutions by customers
