Osprey Video adds seamless integration with Medialooks’ SDKs

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA — April 9, 2018 — Osprey Video today announced official support for Medialooks MFormats SDK.

Osprey Video has been providing mission-critical video capture devices since 1994 with PCI, PCIe capture cards including SDI, HDMI, composite and VGA models and USB capture devices with support for both Windows and Linux. Osprey Video drivers provide a powerful SDK with DirectShow support and V4L2 along with a custom low latency SDK. Starting with the Osprey 900 series capture cards, all Osprey Video I/O cards will feature support for Medialooks MFormats SDK.

The new Osprey Raptor 480, 900, and 1200 series capture cards represent a continuing commitment by Osprey Video to provide high quality solutions for video ingest from all available sources. The Raptor series applies the latest technology to support inputs from analog through full 4K, 12G SDI video. The Raptor series adds features expressly requested by our OEM users for multi-channel audio ingest and controls, and bi-directional channels that can be user-configured as ingest, output or pass-through video. To give developers fast access to this array of new features, Osprey has teamed up with Medialooks to provide various protocols and codecs enabling quick, easy, and convenient development with the Osprey I/O cards.

“The combination of Osprey I/O cards and the MFormats SDK shortens the time to market of new applications and can simplify the ongoing improvement of existing software, “ says Jeremy Gerdes, Product Manager of Osprey Video. “The SDK is very stable and provides essential features expanding upon the Osprey drivers with software encoding and decoding. By using the Medialooks’ SDK developers can create new applications such as encoders, transcoders, event multi-input systems and medical applications for a fraction of the cost compared to development without the SDK.”

“We are extremely pleased with the fact that one of the oldest and most experienced companies in the industry has clearly recognised the value that our software development tools provide,” says Alex Bashlykov, Product Lead and head of customer success at Medialooks. “We are anticipating our products being in the heart of even more solutions around the world.”

Osprey Video is exhibiting at NAB Show 2018 at booth SU8107. Medialooks is exhibiting at the NDI Central Pavilion, SL5516.
